Transfer, Evaluation and Dissemination of an Innovative Fertilizer Management Tool (Nutrient Expert) for increasing crop yields and farmers’ income in Eastern Nepal

Major Activities:
  • Capacity building of farmers, on-farm trials, inception meeting, Nutrient Expert training to FORWARD, DADO staffs, farmers' field days, joint monitoring, progress review meeting etc.
Objectives:
  • To evaluate the NE tool with cereal crops (maize, rice and wheat) comparing three fertilizer management practices in Jhapa and Morang districts in eastern Nepal
Outputs:
  • Efficient use of fertilizers and increased crop yield and farmers’ income of more than 5000 farmers in Jhapa and Morang districts alone resulting in significant economic and community-level impacts
