A Joint Mission Visit consisting the representative from Government, INGO, and NGO was conducted successfully in Sindhuli and Rautahat districts from 30th August to 2nd September, 2016. The team was led by Mr. Uttam Bhattrai, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture Development (MoAD) and assist by Mr. Ian Mc Donald, Program Director, World Food Program (WFP). The team visited Rural Women Economic Empowerment (RWEE) project and was wondered to see progress of RWEE in a short duration and express their thanks to FORWARD Nepal, WFP and other concerned stakeholders. During the visit, team observed Community Agriculture Extension Service Centre (CAESC) and Cash for Assets (CFA) distribution in Sindhuli. The team from ministry was interested to learn the structural design of the building and proposed for the construction of integrated crop and livestock service center, from development partners in the next phase. The team observed deep boring site in Rautahat and was interested to see the standard operational procedure to run the pump. Besides that, Community was also very happy to achieve the unbelievable support and work in the short span and also glad to get cash and works in their leadership including supplementary food, seed package and trainings. During the visit, Mr. Surya Prasad Poudel, Deputy Director General, Department of Agriculture (DoA)/MoAD; Ms. Bidya Pandey and Mr. Indra Hari Poudel, Under Secretary, MoAD, , Ms. Meenu Hada, Programme Officer, WFP, Dr. Binod Saha, Assistant Country Representative, and Mr. Shrawan Adhikari, Programme Officer, FAO Nepal; Ms. Miyo Yokota, Programme Specialist, and Ms. Rachana Bhattrai, Programme Officer, UNWOMEN; and Mr. Rishikesh Dhakal, Program Manager, including field team of FORWARD Nepal were present. The visit was encouraging to the stakeholders where Government realized the need and scope of CAESC and all United Nations agencies appreciated the works of RWEE Program.
